Textile recycling is the method of reusing or reprocessing used clothing, fibrous material and clothing scraps from the manufacturing process. Textiles in municipal solid waste are found mainly in discarded clothing, although other sources include furniture, carpets, tires, footwear, and nondurable goods such as sheets and towels.

Clothing scam companies are companies/gangs that purport to be collecting second-hand clothes for charities or to be working for charitable causes, when they are in fact working for themselves, giving little if anything to charitable causes.

The scam Companies cause major problems for established charities in terms of lost donations and making the public distrustful of all clothes collectors.

The oldest confirmed footwear was discovered in Fort Rock Cave in the U.S. state of Oregon; radiocarbon dating of these sandals woven from sagebrush bark indicates an age of least 10,000 years. However footprints of what looks like ancient sandals have been carbon dated to around the time 500,000 BC
